I've seen quite a few faces ripped up by cockatoo or two. I do not trust my face near one at all.

And you have a cockatoo sitting on your shoulder in your display picture!

Tiels are Toos too!

Anyways, I think cockatoos are all so beautiful. However, I heard some of the larger ones can be quite neurotic and hard to care for.

I'm more drawn to the smaller species of cockatoo, like the bare eyed, cockatiel and Gallah. You see a lot less of them with feather plucking issues (at least from what I've seen)

Hahaahahah!! Right, I forgot...

Well, I make a little exception cause Apple is so small and passive...

Zaza, I love bare eyed's. It's the one I'd get if ever, though I'm still a bit terrified of big beaks. Seriously, I don't know how to approach a big bird- I have no idea if it's about to attack.

You're calling the beak of a Little Corella big!? Hahaha. I find cockatoo beaks to be so... petite compared to Cape Parrot! But to be quite honest big beaks hurt less. They can do more damage and bruising but it's a totally different kind of bite. The smaller bites are more piercing while the bigger ones go deeper.

I got bit by a Jardine's twice. It felt like a pair of metal pliers crunching on my finger and not letting go. Left no mark at all and it didn't even hurt after 10mins, but psychologically it was horrifying because it happened at lightspeed.

Yeah Jardine's is something in the middle. Bigger beak than Senegal, smaller than Cape. So it doesn't have that big bite appeal but it's definitely blunter. Jardine's beak is probably bigger than all the small Cockatoo ones though. Galah beak is laughably small. Even an African Grey's beak is barely any bigger than a Senegal's. Despite all this, I think I find conures to be the post painful biters overall.

Ive been doing a lot of research and read that goffins cockatoos are little escape artists! I personally love umbrella cockatoos! They are just like hyperactive children haha.

Maybe they breed the Toos bigger in Australia, but they have a pretty impressive beak to me! (Sulphur Crested)
