ouch! I still would love to have an amazon. maybe when I'm (much) more comfortable handling larger species. How often do you get bitten, working with all those birds?

I get bitten fairly often, however i don't follow my own advice, and often push the envelope. Josie on the other hand is rarely bitten, but it does happen.The bite i was quoting was a big deal but that was because i got between two birds that want to kill each other, most bites are just nips , like the one in the video, which really wasn't a big deal at all.

The worst bite I have ever recieved was from a male cockatiel. He ripped out flesh and it took forever for the bleeding to stop. I couldn't believe a little bird beak could do so much damage! It honestly hurt for days!

My quaker has never bitten me, gets a little nippy, but no pain, I'm sure she could though.

My jenday never bit me, but he drew blood from my son.

My new little lovebird-yikes!!! She leaves a big ol' ouchie! She is a sassy little thing.


I can't imagine getting a big bird bite.
