Sun Conure's Screech > GCC's Screech

Yep. Today, I went to a petstore and realized that the GCC's squawks actually HURT my eardrums.
The Sunny was loud but it didn't physically damage me. The tonal quality of the Pyrrhura screams was way more irritating than that of the Sun's screams. I think I'm one in a thousand.

I found all conures screech equally annoying.
Not a fan. They can be cute but the noise totally makes me NOT want to get one :)

I'll offer a different viewpoint -- I don't find Scooter's vocalizations all that bad. He truly sreeches on very rare occasions and his contact call doesn't bother me all that much. And I'm a human-noise averse person -- I hate loud TVs. OTOH, when Scotty gets into his peeping vocalization, it can get on my nerves.

I guess this is just another good argument for spending some time around any species you are really interested in. Not that Scotty ever made a sound until we got him home.

you are not alone. I lived with a senegal parrot and a patagonian conure. The senegal parrot made my ears 'splode

I personally think the sun conure's screech is horrible. I went into a pet shop and heard it then went back out. My GCC screeches are actually pleasant to my ears. I must have weird ears!
