Cockatiel instead...

Postby parrotlover » Tue Jul 19, 2011 7:03 pm

I might actually be getting a Cockatiel instead of a Parakeet. :| My dad said he would prefer it then a Parakeet. So any information on Cockatiels would be greatly appreciated.

Get a handfed one, look around for breeders in your area.

My 3 pair take turns producing clutches. They all have fun messing around then laying eggs but the first one to have a viable egg is the winner. The others get off their nests. (When the babies come out of the nest the whole flock takes care of them) Which works out great for me because I don't sell my babies. I find them homes.

It is a shame that it is not breeding season. There may be someone in your area that does the same.

Kool! I think I found handfed baby Cockatiels. It shows there is 2 Cockatiels but it doesn't say if both of them are for $50 or they are each $50. I just want one though. So I don't know whether or not she wants to just sell both of them at teh same time or not?...

Yea I actually did find the breeder! she lives in Kenner wich is about 30-40 minutes from where I live! and they're baby Cockatiel's that are about to be weaned! The lady also said that they are VERY used to humans and that some of them will cuddle and lay on their back in yor hands! I find that so cute! But yea I'm going to try and get my dad to call them today! WOOT WOOT!
