Fully White or Color?

Postby parrotlover » Sat Jul 23, 2011 3:07 pm

Hey I'm getting baby Cockatiels from a breeder and I was wondering which one would look better? A full white one like this Image

or a regular one like this Image

Also I'm makeing a YouTube channel. What should I name it? It's going to be a parrots in general and my Cockatiel. :)

ITS YOUR BIRD! :D
Making a fuss is always the sign of a good owner, but these sorts of things are strictly for the owner and what would be more interesting
(personally, i still can't stop myself from saying that the white one looks awesomelly cool :pied:

When you go and look at them pick the one you feel connects with you the most or that you connect with the most. I choose pets by the way we interact with one another. I want an animal I am compatible with.

I am with hungrybird. I have already said on another thread, that you need to meet the birds, play with them, hold them, see which one likes you and which one you like. You are not getting a new shirt, what color will I get? This is a living bird and you need to feel a connection with it. I think you will understand what I am trying to say when you go and see them. It is hard to put in writing the feeling you get but YOU WILL KNOW which one is to be your new friend. Color is irrelevent, its about the birds personality and the way s/he looks at/interacts with you and you with them. Good Luck (not that you will need it, cos your bird will pick you)
P.S. Do not be persuaded by the breeder to go for a different one, you know what YOU want. The guy I got Rory from wanted me to take a different one, but I knew that Rory and I were meant to be, and he is the best. Rory is a white face cinnamon.

Forgot to mention, make sure you get a HEALTHY bird. The breeder may offer you a discount to take another one (not saying it does but it may have problems) Make sure their eyes, beak, feet, feathers, cere, may I say bum, are all clear. To save a few $$$$$ will end up costing you in vet bills, medications, stress etc and not worth it. Go for the most interactive, nosy, noisy, playful one, the one that walks, climbs, listens to you etc. Dont feel 'sorry' for the little guy over the back cos he looks small, lonely, sick, missing feathers, sore foot or whatever.

No people were accusing mine of not being fully weaned, they recommended mushing pellets in oats/oatmeal. Mine took no interest because he was weaned.... Also a hand feeding formula has alot of nutrition. Feed with a spoon, not syringe, because if you don't know how to properly use a syringe you could give your poor birdie pheomonia or other complications. So feed with a spoon. LOL i know so much by joining these forums, I'm like a bird expert LOL
Also I like the rosy cheeks, but whites look STUNNING!
But as I said go for the connection! It does make a difference, even if the bird is not what you wanted in appearance, but is friendly and loves pats BUY IT!!
If you get the colour you want but the bird isn't very tame...you will regret...lol. You can always train, but the ones that are friendlier would be more cuddly and easier to tame and train
Good Luck
Thanks a LOAD Rachel =) :sun:
