I know you said you were against shipping, but have you considered reconsidering? (funny sentence)

Many birds get shipped, and there are a lot of people who would say that it's better to get a healthy, well socialized baby from an excellent breeder far away, than go with a mediocre local breeder. As long as the breeder exposes his/her babies to a lot of different situations early on, shipping really isn't that traumatizing. Birds are more adaptable than we give them credit for. :)

Well she sent two pictures of the baby she said was the friendliest. I voiced my concerns to her and she emailed back a prompt reply that was very nice. I feel a bit better about it, whereas the other breeder I had been in touch with hasn't emailed me back in 2 days.

I think we're gonna take the drive up tomorrow. We'll get there around 3pm, and home for 10. What should I do with her when we get in? Since it's so late, should we just put her in her cage and go to bed? Or should we spend some time with her before bed?

I have bought from Windsong Aviary. An Alex, barrabands and plumhead. Her babies are handfed and socialized with other babies in her bird room. Are her birds really tame? Can't say as the species that I have bought are generally not the cuddling kind. She has a lot of birds so her time may be limited with regard to spending specific quality time with each bird. Her birds are out during the day and will come over to people if so inclined. However, I would not hesitate to buy from her again.
