I have two birds, and I hate parakeets, haha.

I think you should consider a spectacled parrotlet. I have had my Beeker for two years and she is so attached to me and my boyfriend. She loves to preen us and loves nothing more than to be with us. She's also very independent and enjoys playing on her toys. Parrotlets are such cute little acrobats and are very intertaining to watch. I have known some pacific parrotlet owners and those birds weren't nearly are affectionate as a spectacled.

Why does your cockatiel just sit there. Mine are clowns. Give it enrichment or another tiel. Or you can let your lovebird and tiel play together. When mine are out the lovebirds join the tiel flock.
