Half Moon Conures

Postby Munchy » Sun Sep 11, 2011 11:47 am

I am adding these pictures of Disney because of the few compliments I received about him, and because of the inquiries about conures versus other species of birds as pets, and because I think Half Moons are awesome. Most importantly though, because Half Moons used to be so common but now they can be difficult to find. I'd like to see more breeders working together to keep genetic diversity among captive bred birds in all species. I do feel a bit at odds with myself wanting a bird to become more popular as a pet, when parrots are disappearing in the wild because of the pet trade.
It seems that with all the pets there are that the parrot community should keep records and have a captive bred breeding program for all species. But what the hell do I know?
I did read an interview about parrots as pets by a parrot expert, I wish I could find that ink now, he stated that indeed parrots of all kinds definitely should be bred in captivity. With this in mind here are a few, more than a few, pictures of Disney, an awesome bird I love more than I knew I could. Image

Disney is intelligent, fun, entertaining, sweet, bossy, loving, loud.

I love the little head-tilt in the third-to-last photo. There's so much personality! So cute. :D
