derekb ; The eye pinning this is great as far as it goes but to understand the eye pinning it must be looked at in conjunction with other body language as it could indicate anger, or it could just indicated interest, but all by itself it means nothing of value. Also cockatiels are wonderful little parrots, although I do not have any of them don't sell them so short as at the very least they should be able to provide valuable insight into cockatoo behavior. I know that many people might not think of them in that manner but they are members of that family of parrots and most parrots in a given family do seem to have similar behaviors. For instance both cockatiels and cockatoos are normally very loving birds but the large cockatoos often get into trouble due to their very large, powerful beaks that are strong enough that even a playful nip could mean a visit to the emergency room, while this is unlikely with a cockatiels just due to their size.
Just thought that I would toss this out there and although I might be speaking out the wrong orfice over it, I think that you may be selling both the cockatiel and you and your experience a little bit short.
