If the hens still lay eggs, you can replace them with fake ones. You don't have to let them have babies when there are already so many Cockatiels filled up in rescues and on Craigslist ads.
It was a little too late when I got your advice. Tommy and Tammy had already started egging. I did not have the heart to destroy the eggs.
I have always given my tiels cardboard boxes to keep warm in at night before I start turning on the heat. I did not know that is what caused them to nest. (I know - 61 years old and still stupid.)
My four, Shadow & Sweetie and Lemone' & Twinkle mess around all year. They have never tried nesting until January.
Tommy & Tammy didn't know house rules. We now have 3 baby tiels and an unhatched egg. Since they are Rachel's she will have to search for homes.
They are really cute. Momma and Poppa are so proud of them. They got off the nest to show me.
One advantage is that now mine have heard the babies and will not try to nest.
