With that cage size and given you have small kid/s, I wouldn't get anything bigger than a Pionus.
That cage is really too small for even that bird, you know, they need to fly even in their cage. ;)

So my recommendation is that you read, study, read, study (for several months, preferably a year or so), then you rescue or adopt a rehome or two of the smaller species. Mini macaw, Poicephalus (but they, especially the Senegal, can be quite nasty), Caique, Pionus, and of course the Cockatiel is not to be forgotten.

The Noble macaw is simply a subspecies of the Hahns Macaw, both belong to the species Diopsittaca nobilis.
Here's a good library with all parrot species in the world, including their basic care, temperament, cage size requirements and how common they are in captivity (check the "tabs"): http://www.parrots.org/index.php/encycl ... tionquery/

My bird (no matter the species) will be out of its cage much more than in. This is really just a sleeping area or should I need to go run errands. It was quite literally the largest cage I could order on island. I am home all day and space is no problem no matter the bird size as we also know parrot people in the area whom have playdates in fly safe areas. I have been researching for about 6 months and reading a lot. But I have focused only on the larger macaws.

I am unsure as to where you are, I am also unsure why such disparity in prices, but there are some decent prices listed here http://www.birdsnow.com/hyacinthmacaw.htm. The one in Richmond really has me interested since I am only 1 hour away. Anyway, just thought I would post up the link.

I am in Hawaii, everything is price gouged here and the shipping and quarantine/testing that has to be done to get one from the mainland is ridiculous! They like to make it near impossible to bring anything in so that all our money stays here :) But I might consider it should I not find a bird on island that suits us

Also, I would worry about the $250-$600 adds. I'd be afraid of scams because that is awfully cheap for such an expensive bird!

If you live in Hawaii, you need to look up all the species that are banned. There are quite a few, I'm afraid. :(

Personally I think they are adorable :-)! I would love to have a pair of them in a distant future, far far away.

Electus parrots generally have really mellow personalities and don't produce dust, but they do have special dietary requirements and aren't known for being cuddly.
