Caiques and White-fronted Amazons

Polarn is still quite skittish around my hands, I got a few pictures of him when bathing and such but no pictures that would be good for a comparisment of size, can se if i can manage to hold the camera while treating/petting his belly or something. But there is a big difference in size between the white fronts and the blue fronted, and if you like an amazon that is slightly bigger than that you have the Mealy Amazon wich is slightly bigger than the blue fronted. think the yelloheaded/necked etc is about the same size as the blue fronted. not entirely sure tho.

for some reason everytime I try to take a picture for you to use as comparisment Polarn comes out looking so small, either becouse im giving him a treat and has my hand closer to the camera than he is.... anyways figures he always comes to the waterbottle, tried to get as much of a side by sida picture as possible... but he still looks smaller on the photo than i think he does IRL. and I do know for a fact that the white fronted amazons are much smaller. couse i were looking at them too before I decided for a bluefronted... anyways here is a pic when he is drinking from the bottle...


starting to think that bottle is his favorite thing, he likes to shower in it and after a few seconds into the shower he comes up to it and puts his head right infront of the nozzle...

Aye, I have met several bluefronts and they are big ^^. Its good that you shower him, they need that almost daily to keep their feathers dandy =). When Polarn is more tame, perhaps you can take him with you into the shower, thats how our little guy showers, he has his own perch in the shower.

Also, I have news on the buddy front, its gonna be a male bronze-winged pionus. I am picking him up in 3 weeks . I'll post pics when he's here and settled in!
