Cockatiel VS Lovebird

Postby Zappity » Fri Dec 23, 2011 11:41 am

As a first bird, which would you suggest? A Cockatiel or a Lovebird? I love them both, and I just can't decide. I want a bird that'll sit on my shoulder/head while I'm doing my homework, and do tricks. I don't care so much about talking, but it'd be nice. I like the look of a Lovebird more than a Cockatiel. I just can't decide. :greycockatiel: :swaying:
Thank you for any suggestions :)

Quite different birds. Cockatiels are more relaxed, chill, and males will whistle and possibly talk.

Lovebirds are more energetic, acrobatic and on the go. Tiels are quite clumsy in comparison to Lovies.

Both have a high pitched scream that travels well through the walls!

Thank you :) I'm leaning more so towards the Lovebird, but my Mom wants me to get a Cockatiel cause she's scared of the Lovebird cause it's hyper. xD

Cockatiels are nice birds, but dusty. But really great birds, all ive met havebeen nice, curious and tame. I dont think you'll do wrong with one.

With even havin' just 1 cockatiel in the house, I can certainly vouch for THAT! LOL
