Any info on Conures??

Hey, I'm Danielle, and I'm new to the forum. I'm from MS, and need some feedback from the Conure owner! I've got a lovebird that I raised, and I've added a new baby to my flock. She is a 4 1/2 week old Jenday/Gold Capped Conure chick. I've been hand feeding her for the past 2 weeks. But anyways, this is my first experience with a Conure. I've had lovebirds and an eclectus before, and they make fantastic companions, but I guess I'm just trying to get some info/stories on the conures. I've heard they make wonderful pets, and I'm pretty excited about how she will turn out. No idea what her colors will be though.. :/ So any experience would be nice. Thanks

I haven't heard of a gold capped/jenday hybrid before. I bet she will be beautiful! I have done a fair amount of research on different types of conures, and I have a crimson bellied conure myself. Of course every individual bird is different, but in general conures tend to be very active, playful, and cuddly. The biggest complaint most people have about them is the noise factor, especially with the Aratinga conures. I'm not saying that all of them are noisy, but just be aware that they have the potential for a very loud scream.

With that being said, I love my conure. She has an excellent personality and is a wonderful pet.

I have a sun and she is awesome with my wife and myself. She will wear me out in the evening as she is very playful, impulsive and cuddly. She prefers me a bit over my wife ( she better...i bought her) but not by much. She is friendly to all and has never bit me hard enough to hurt......i have belonged to her for 1 1/2 yrs....she picked me out when she was 6 months old! Not a talker and can scream in evening for abit if you do not mess with her but that is her extwnded time with us out of the cage for a 2 to 3 hr spell while we unwind during weekdays!
