Whats the best Parrot for me?

Postby happycat » Fri Feb 10, 2012 9:09 pm

What do you think is the best parrot for me? My favorite are parrotlets, linnies, quakers, lovebirds, cockatiel, conures and (i dont know much about them) budgies. So heres what i want in a bird
A cuddly bird that would like to be held a lot.
Noise:It can be kinda loud as long as its not constant
Price:up to 200 dollars for the bird itself. Everything else up to about 200/250$ or maybe a little over (but not much over!)
Talking:I dont care if it can talk or not but if it does then thats good
I want an entertaining sweet bird but dont know which is the best for me! If you know any other birds that might be good for me then tell me

Cockatiel, green cheek conure! Green cheeks match your description more but they are nippier and have no attitude.

Green cheeks as a generalization do match your description. Mine is bouncy and entertaining, gives kisses constantly (on cue also) and loves to get his head scratched, but he is also feisty and likes to wrestle (sometimes too hard). He can be a bit nippy, but he is getting better with that. With diligent work and care, Green cheeks can be lovely. But they can be bossy if you let them. That is just my personal experience with my bird. I have met some who are quite nippy and frightened, but that too can be reduced with training and time.
I have also heard of people having lovely experiences with parrotlets. I don't know much about them myself, but I have met a few people who became quite attached to them.
