I have seen a lot of size variation in GCC. I mean, most of them are averagely small, but there is a few that I have seen that are quite a bit larger. I wouldn't think that yours is a mutant, lol; probably just a combination of genes, diet, and exercise...similar to people and most other animals. A green cheek obviously won't be the size of macaw or anything, but if he is genetically predisposed to being larger and is healthy, he probably will be a big bird for his species.

How much does he weigh? Green Cheeks should be between 60-80 grams. Maxx, my Yellow Sided GCC weighs 65g, so a little on the small size.

I have a breeding pair of green cheeks and my male cinnamon is quite a bit bigger than my normal female, and he is younger than her too. My male is very thick and tall, but not fat.
It just depends on the bird and the genes.
