Cape parrot....female or male for 2nd bird

Postby fishbait » Mon Mar 05, 2012 10:00 am

I am on several lists for a Cape and am asking for a male but one breeder may have a female (just hatched) available, if it is a male it goes to 1st on her wait list. I have been told males generally make better talkers....which is not that important to me but what is important is how well he/she can accept and get along with my Sun Conure. I think my conure will have more issues than either sex of the new cape but thought i would ask other cape owners for their opinions and past experiences.

Thanks!

Thanks Michael- I reviewed my original post and guess i wasn't very clear.....I am wondering if there is a propensity for a newly aquired male cape to get along with an established bird (sun conure) better than a newly aquired female........

Thanks!!

I know a bunch of Cape owners on a different forum, and this has been discussed. Females tend to be less hormonal and sweeter than males in general.
