taking the nest box down

Postby cknowles » Fri Mar 16, 2012 10:35 pm

So I am hand feeding two baby gcc right now and their little sister is still in the nest box. I am thinking about taking her for hand feeding this weekend as she will be 3 weeks old. I am planning on taking the box down too, but will this keep them from laying more eggs, or do gcc lay even without a box? Also they sleep in the box so will taking it down mess with them because they wont have their "bed" to sleep in?
Thank you in advance.

This forum is not an appropriate place to be discussing breeding.

When I only had 4 cockatiels, I gave them a shelf near the top of the cage. It was far enough from the top to let them stand up. All 4 would sleep on that shelf.
