Sorry about that- I am aware that Pineapples are simply a color mutation of the Green Cheek Conure- I just tend to refer to them as Pineapples :)

When it comes to the size difference between a Sun and a GCC is it substantial? The info I have found says Suns are about 2 inches larger. Is that about accurate?
are GCCs too smal to really play with? or can you cuddle them too?

Green cheeks have quite a reputation for their cuddliness, tame ones will nearly always want to be with their owners above everything else. These little conures do have drawbacks though, they go though nippy stages which need dealing with correctly before it develops into a biting habit. Also their clinginess can be a bit of a drawback for people who would like them to be a bit more independant. Other than that they are great little birds, very clever, reasonably-very quiet and chew little compared with other species.

If a GCC begins to get nippy, what are the training steps necessary to resolve the issue before it becomes biting? I have heard of some training methods such as grabbing the beak, or blowing in their face- but I wasn't sure I liked those options..... :? What have you found works for you?

My experience with them is fairly limited, but most of the cockatiels I have met are unfriendly and do not seem to enjoy human interaction. I met one this afternoon and played with it- seemed nice, but also didn't seem like a "parrot" if that makes sense?

My best friend has a cockatiel and he was handled a lot by the breeder, so he loves to hang out on you and I can almost see his little heart going all mushy when you give him head scratches. Probably the ones you've met were not handled much by the breeders or they came from a bad pet store. Cockatiels are one of my favorite species! They're such friendly, funny little guys. :D

Cockatiels are actually a very small species of cockatoo, which are not "true" parrots... I can't remember the exact science behind it, but it has to do with their genetics. Maybe that's why the cockatiel didn't "seem like a parrot" to you! ;)
