We brought Iago home today! Within 5 minutes in his cage he was eating, drinking and checking out his new home. He has been pretty good this evening- minus a few loud pitched squeaks. We are hoping his other calls will be his dominant one- not because of the noise for us but for neighbors. We are a bird friendly complex, and the only requirement is that they be quiet at night. I am hoping this will be the case as we establish a new routine for him. It is 9 pm here and I just covered his cage and turned off the lights immediately near the cage.......hoping he gets the bedtime message.
If for some reason he doesn't seem to understand, what should we do to enforce quiet time at bedtime? Fortunately our landlord owns several birds herself, so I am hopeful she will be patient if it becomes necessary to train him. So far though he is doing wonderfully!
