Maxx is 1 year old

Postby Bobioden » Sun Apr 01, 2012 9:06 pm

Maxx turned 1 year old on the 26th. I was busy with family visitors that I didn't get a chance to post on here.

I can't believe he is 1 already. Seems like yesterday HE picked me out, at 11 weeks.

What an absolute joy he has been. He is a very quiet, playful, fun loving bird that I can not imagine my life without.

I take him to work and he will go from finger to finger, never biting, and doing the side head time that melts anyone who happens to fall under his charm.

My family visitors, which included my older niece, her other half and 11 year old son were totally mesmerized by Maxx. Enough so, that I think a bird will be their new family pet.

I spent the afternoon on the patio with Maxx as he basked in the sun.

Here are some pics of my little boy.

Very nice. Just never leave him outside unsupervised in a wire cage like that. I heard a story of a cat tearing a cage like that apart and killing the budgie inside.

Aw, happy birthday, Maxx!

I have a GCC and I love him to pieces and can't image my life without him. Time really flies, though; he's a re-home and I can't believe it's been 3 1/2 years since he came into my life! He was 2 1/2 when I adopted him and he turned 6 in March. :-)

Happy Birthday Maxx.

When I got Myrtle I was told she was a year old. Since she has really fooled me how she came out of her scared little shell, I am claiming April Fools Day for her birthday. I have had her a year now so she is 2.

Since everything I have is a rescue - I am going to claim that day for all their birthdays. That makes my old dog, Bruce, 16 and my old cat , Fancy, 15.

I like the way you think, Liz! Both my birds are rescues and while I do know my GCC's hatch date (his original owner had his "hatch certificate") I have no clue when my brown-headed parrot's birthday is (nor do I know how old he is).

So I think I'm going to steal your idea and just pick a date! :D

I got Myrtle at the end of March so it is a natural. The woman told me she never comes out of her cage and never makes a noise. She was terrified of the Grey in the cage right beside her. She was skinny with dull feathers.

Myrtle eats and begs for everything. I had to share my fettachini alfrado with her tonight. I sure can't see her bones now. She loves to talk and sing with me. She can answer some questions but has not reached Rambo standards. When she has nothing else to say she baby talks.

She as well as my other rescues have taken big steps in their transformation. I love them all so much. I can't imagine how some people say they never want a pet.
