Love Birds

Postby Cockatielsongs » Sun Aug 05, 2012 2:43 am

One of my friends say you can't play or train a love bird, is that true? Just curious, what is the general personality of a lovebird? :)

Of course that's not true! :swaying:, like other birds, can be trained if you know how. Just take a look at this video:

Now if that's not a lovebird doing tricks, I need to go to specsavers

Yep you can definately train them. In terms of personality I would sum it up by Saying, hyperactive toddler lol

It's harder to train them if you get two. It doesn't mean it's impossible though. They're pretty much like a budgie.

Maybe, I'm sure it's possible, and I hear great things about lovies, but my only experiences with them are pretty bad. This one flew to me in an aviary, and I was very excited since the other birds in the aviary were friendly but a little hesitant towards absolute strangers. Anyways, I held out a pellet to it, it jumped to my hand, took the pellet, dropped it, and then completely shredded my finger. I didn't even think lovies could draw blood...but yep, that happened. The other one I knew personally was not friendly at all, and it was a hand-raised baby. :?
