Who has a more passive temperament? Who is quieter. Who is cuddlier? Who is more sociable and friendlier( less of a 1 person bird)..

well not dead set but poi seems like the right family for me since i want quieter medium sized birds who are cuddly and playful.

Ive heard the red-bellieds to be less confrontational then sennies, but a poi is still a poi and the old world birds are in general are intolerant of other birds etc. Which you have stated is an issue with your budgies and the fact that you may settle down in the years to come.

Also, this breeder http://www.africanqueenaviaries.com/index.html is pretty reputable, for all your poi desires
If you don't want a 1 person bird, why are you going for pois?
