sun conure question

Postby timmydoo » Sat Sep 08, 2012 10:21 pm

Hi all
Im wondering about some of my conures behavior.... does anyone know what it means when they select a spot on your person (in my case, my chin, and finger tips)and put their beak sideways and rapidly and vigorously rub on you... its definately not a beak cleaning thing as theres no food involved and it happens every time outa the cage.... after doin this, theres a kinda "tasting" action before doin it again...

A little back ground-
7-8 yrs old.... i adopted around 2 yrs. Sex unknown
Bonded to me instantly ...was very bonded to previous owner who could not offer enough attention... ive had some life issues in recent years when i wasnt able to give much attention but ive gotten my priorities straightened out and the puffy one is at the top of the list.... i just wondering what the message is that im quite figuring out....

Much thanx, kel

My Kakariki Muta does that to me all the time, he does it to show that I belong to him.. haha. Does it all over his toys too. I believe your Conure may be 'claiming' you as her/his own.
