Pionus parrots

Postby Nir » Fri Sep 21, 2012 7:35 pm

Anyone who owns pionus parrots, please tell me everything you know about them. Please share your experiences and which pionus you have and which pio you think is known to be more cuddlier and sociable. Are they similarly known to be as cuddly as senegals?

Just tell me everything you know about them and how a normal interaction with them is. Also please fight yourself from repeating things that get repeated often to scare of new bird owners since this bird is for a friend who has owned couple of parrots already and is experienced enough. So please stick to the topic.

Thanks in advance.

Nobody says stuff to scare off owners, they say stuff to inform the potential owner so they know what they can expect.

Nir, I understand your frustration from previous threads you started ;), but I think a comment like that will do nothing but add fuel to the flames, becuase it tells us that you assume that we all are angry people ^^!

I dont think anyone is out to "scare" people away, or intend to be harsh, but of course things can be said in different ways =).

If you are interested in Pionuses, or if your friend is, do a search in the forums, I have answered a lot of questions about Bronze winged pionuses before, telling people about my experience with Leroy :) !

But it gets repeated to the same person too much when it's not needed. I read 1 post where Michael posted that he was interested about African greys cause he wanted to venture into birds that can talk and someone actually replied with, " we'll keep in mind that not all birds can talk and blah blah blah." seriouslly? Telling Michael that? Someone who knows probably 10x more about birds? Its fine to let a new poster know about the worst case scenerio but what I see is that it gets pointed out in every post without actually answering the posters question which is often just wanting personal experience from bird owners. That's why I just wanted the posts to only be about the question especially since the person is experienced.

Cml I really didn't mean it that way. I just wanted posts more specifically to stick to the topic since I already got my share of the new bird owner dose of warning :). And the bird is for a friend with experience ;).
