Is it normal for handfed baby senegals to be nippy?

I don't think its a legal requirement in the UK not sure but it might not be where u are either. Only cites birds legally have to be chipped as far as I know.

Not sure where you live, but pretty sure it's personal choice or laziness regarding whether a parrot chick has one. I see very few parrots with bands where I live.

So i am lazy tonight and didn't read through all the pages so this may already have been mentioned. But there is a difference in the result of hand feeding (even if I like parent raised preferences are different and I know people who does handfeed their chicks) and one question you may ask a breeder is weather the chick is raised with a syringe or a spoon... Now the syringe has its benefits (from a breeder point of view) and that would be it is a lot quicker than feeding with a spoon it also makes less of a mess, the downsides pretty much are the same (from the buyer looking for a handfeed bird point off view) the bird has had less interaction since feeding with a syringe is so quick and since it doesn't make such a mess less interaction is given through preening/cleaning. There are other drawbacks with syringes from a medical point of view that may cause a lack of focus when feeding to result in a death due to drowning the chick or... Overfilling it.
By feeding with a spoon you ensure the chick swallows the food itself and therefor won't drown it. And since it does take longer time a breeder using this method is more likely to interact more with the birds overall since he/she is willing to go with a spoon instead of a syringe in the first place. Now a grown bird won't have any differences in any of these methods but... A handfed bird doesn't automatically mean a bird that is confiteble with hands...

some updates. kiwi seems to like my shoulder a lot. She is on it right now and eating nuts.tried to get her of but she doesnt seem to want to so she is just hanging out while i work. I noticed this when she kept flying near me then flying back. Pretty sure its because she wanted me to train her so i did a session. I am a bit scared that she will bite my ear or something but so far she has not bit anything while on my shoulder. she also earlier flew to 2 friends shoulders who were near her. I figure this might help the bonding.

I have a pretty strict no shoulder policy with Nika and I think you should too especially if you have been bit. Nika sometimes flies to my shoulder now, and since she's pretty well trained now it's okay but I still remove her promptly. I suggest you do the same. Get in the habit of carrying her on your hand. You can get a t stand and move it to where you are hanging out. She'll get used to it.

well i was trying to get her to come down but couldnt. and i didnt want to use my hand to get her down since that will reinforce her to bite. I tried the perch but it didnt work. So i just let her hang out and then after she ate some nuts she flew to the tree stand near me. And then i just gave her a nutriberry and worked on my computer while she was hanging out there for awhile.

since she is target trained, you can target her off your shoulder. I wouldnt let her on your shoulder either until the bond is established. In the meantime, if she goes to your shoulder do not face her or you could get a nasty eye injury due to her unpredictable nature at this stage.
