i recently found out that lily-ckatoo was very fond of whistling, and will repeat simple tunes back to you on her 1st or 2nd try. well, now i'm trying to teach her if your happy and you know it...
do you teach whistling the same way you do talking?

Pretty much, the more they are exposed to it the easier it is for them to pick it up.
