Funny Conversations

Postby Mona » Sat Oct 10, 2009 10:41 am

I want to write this down before I forget, but this is the verbatum conversation I had with my TAG this morning. She takes showers with me. Afterwards, I put her on the top of the shower stall to watch me do my morning routine. This is the conversation:

Phinney (TAG): Do you want to come up?

Me: No, I can't. I'm doing my hair

Phinney (TAG): What are you doing?

Me: I told you, I'm doing my hair.

Phinney (TAG): Hurry up! Come on. Let's go.

At that point, I was getting such a kick out of the conversation, I left the room to tell my husband about it. I probably should have stayed in there just to see what she was going to ask me to do next.

Thanks!

Haha, that is funny. Sometimes you wonder if they do understand what you're saying.

Here's another one that happened yesterday. Bailey is my 13 year old
rehomed Senegal. He has been talking a lot lately but his voice is kindof a
combination between Michael Jackson and the BeeGee's and he is really hard to
understand. Yesterday, my flock was all out in the bird room flying and
foraging. Doug had brought in a cardboard box and the birds wanted to
investigate this....especially Phinney and Bailey.

Phinney was in the box. Bailey stalked up to it with the puffy pants look, neck
outstretched and beak open. Phinney came out of the box and stretched her neck
out too. There was this invisible line drawn in the sand and then Bailey said
as plain as day, "What do you think you are doing?"

At that point, both birds took off flying across the room as fast as possible,
landed on separate areas and began preening and staring at me.....I laughed.

If they had been clipped, I would never have allowed this interaction because no
escape from an aggressor. Fully, functioning and flighted it's all in a day's
play.

Sorry to intrude on your post Mona, I just couldn't think of anywhere else to put this!

This morning the cutest thing happened. For those that don't know, my Amazon, Mojo, and my husband do not have a good relationship, but we've been working on improving this. Every day when my husband goes near Mojo's cage he will give him a sunflower seed in its shell (his favorite) just to teach Mojo that his presence equals good things. Well this morning he walked up to the cage with a seed, said "Hello Mojo!" and Mojo ran to him and replied with an excited "Hi Pretty Boy!". It was the cutest thing!

I think this morning was the first time my husband truly understood what it is that I love about these beautiful creatures :D .

I've already mentioned elsewhere that everytime Teyla screams, Tamber imitates my husband in his entire progression of comments that always starts with "Hey!" and "Cut that out!"

Well, I teach private music lessons on Fridays. My first student is a blues harp (harmonica) player who has been taking lessons for about 6 or 7 years and all lessons occur in my living room where my birds are.

It's funny when I get into a conversation with my student where there's more talk than music and Tamber just starts talking up a storm as if he is in the conversation.

One time, my student was doing a scale which includes bending notes through the entire length of the harmonica. It sounds pretty obnoxious up at the top when you are first breaking in your harp. Well, this one day was the first time with a new harp.

My student hits the highest bend and Tamber says, "Hey! Cut that out!"

I laughed myself to tears on that one! :D

(Good thing my student has a good sense of humor. )
