This is the best free fly. This guy is one in a billion who can do this. He is not even a professional bird trainer.

That guy is nuts. They only come back because that is all they know. I wonder how many don't make it back.

Well Liz, we all have birds living with us and that pretty much says that we are also nuts. Birds are messy and loud and hard work and belong flying free and instead they are living in houses with us, it is all they know.
While this persons ability to teach his birds to return home is both uncommon and amazing, it is a much bigger risk than I am willing to take with my birds. I also live in an area where there are plenty of predators both ground dwelling and avian predators that would love for me to risk free flight with my birds. And while this is not a viable option for my birds and myself I can respect the effort that this person has put into his birds and that he apparently lives in an area that is safer for his birds than the area that I live in. I would really love for my birds to be able to fly and live free as they were intended to.

I wonder if he notices if one does not come back. I did not realize the cockatiel outside was one of mine until I counted.
It scares me to see them turned loose like that.
Myrtle gets her flying in by doing loops through each room while flying the house.

I couldn't answer that with any assurance that I would be right, but I would bet that he does notice and I am sure that he cares about his birds too. He has obviously put a great deal of time into their training.
While I could not risk this with as many predators as live around me, that may not be a major issue there, I don't know. He also lives in a different culture than what we do and I have noticed that the majority of parrots being flown free seem to be from mostly what we think of as Asian cultures, although I don't know if that has any real bearing on it or not.

I think you got it. It must be where they are. I can still hear Max calling in the distance. He seems to have gone native. That would not have happened in NC. I have even had flying predators try to get into the sun room to get at my cockatiels.
There is also safety in numbers and they seem to create flocks in the air.

Very nicely done and he looks so dashing with his hoodie thing. It does seem to throw his balance off a little bit but he does recover nicely. And as a bonus I got to see his buddies, that was great! Thank you so much for sharing this with me.
