Sorry to hear about your loss. I have 6 flighted birds at home. I always keep my curtain closed to prevent them from escaping. So far the only one managed to get out was my grey. Luckily she didn't fly away on each time she got out. Consider installing a curtain. It helps a lot.

I've installed a curtain in the entryway where Willow escaped.
