Want to turn a bad habit into a desired behavior.

My senegal is an otherwise well behaved fella. We train daily yet there is one issue where it is more like he has trained me. I have wooden beads hanging in the kitchen & the hall doorways & when he wants to check on me (or simply go for a fly) he flies to the beads & hangs there. Sometimes he merely does it for fun but other times it is an attempt to get my attention. I find it hard to ignore because he's realized that I'm not keen on him breaking off the beads & will come remove him. I always put him back on his perch in an effort not to reward the behavior. Ideally I'd like to redirect him in-flight to land on my hand instead & hopefully turn it into the wanted behavior of flight recall.
I could certainly use some advice! Many thanks.

Ya, that's about it. An obvious solution would be to remove the beads but I am even more stubborn than he is & they keep him in the safety zone.
