Well it's a combination of distracting them out of chewing (treats, head scratches, being outside, etc) and letting them get it over with. All of mine still chew from time to time but it is insignificant.

So do you think I should leave her to it for a while? That wouldn't make her learn to chew it for fun?
And should I stop with the hand twisting?

I've been doing this every morning for well over a year. Still not at a point where I can put it on without him being nervous about it. He let's me put it on his head and around him etc.

Sounds to me like you are doing fine with Pod, Dana. It can take a long time to get some birds to accept getting harnessed. I f Pod is letting you put it on him and adjusting it on him then you are about ready to try a trial flight indoors. then remember to hook the line to a belt loop for when you take him outside with his harness on.
