Food motivation

Sometimes, we have people here posting that their birds are not food motivated so they cannot teach them anything. But ALL animals are! It's survival instinct. They trick is to find the high value item they cannot resist and save it only for training and that means not free-feeding protein food.

Look at this flock of street pigeons following the man in the wheelchair down a busy street... Why do they do it? For the food he gives them! I have a flock of pigeons and one of sparrows that come when I call to them every morning - even when they are blocks away! Why? Because they know my POOOORRRROOOOOO POOOOORRRRROOOO means breakfast
