They will always be harder to get off than on because your working in the opposite direction to the lay of the feathers. For this reason alone it will make it feel tighter. Sounds like your making good progress anyway well done.

I will be following your progress. I havent mastered the harness yet, but admittingly since the weather has turned cold I havent been consistant with the harness training of late. He is at the same stage it seems as your bird in that he will willingly put his head through harness to get rewarded. I am going to start ratcheting up the training since I want to take him outside in the spring. Wish me luck and I will update here as well. I know it is time and patience but had a set-back when he panicked once and flew around the house with harness around his neck. He has gotten past that episode but need to push forward.

I wish you luck and hopefully I can finally get through this training roadblock once and for all.

Thanks for the re-inspiration.

I can finally get bandit to wear his harness and he's done it only a couple times it's still a bit of a struggle to get it on because its the one with clips but when I take him outside he becomes comfortable and doesn't try to bite the harness. In a few weeks when I get my small harnesses I'm gonna start raining my lorikeets
