Postby clicknparrot » Sat Jan 26, 2013 1:47 am

I would like to hear about ideas for teaching my CAG color discrimination with some rings on a peg I have.

Thanx.

I'm really interested in teaching my Green cheek conure color i.d. as well. I've heard several stories of GCCs being good at putting specific colors of rings on a peg on command, and in specific patterns, so i thought that would be a great way to teach him colors, and then maybe move onto other objects of the same colors.

heres the link for the ring-peg teaching-toy that i plan to use - not sure if this is the one you have - they come in three sizes:

http://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Max-Rings-Gam ... B000795ZCC

i don't have any tips to offer at this point because i havent really started with color training my bird. however this particular zoo-max product i've linked above came with some detailed instructions on how to go about it. maybe if you go to the manufacturers website they might have the same instructions posted there.

looking forward to hearing about the progress your :gray: makes with his color lessons :)

I want one of these for Ollie when he is better but I cant find any UK stockists of the small size, only medium and large. I could order direct from zoo-max but god only knows how much shipping will be :(

I use the small size with my budgie, about the only thing that's too big in that set of puzzles is the coin box is a bit too tall for him to reach the slots.

For those in Australia, Parrot rescue centre in Australia have them all for sale online:
