Headbobbing and regurgitation?

Hi guys,

My green cheek conure started doing this recently where he headbobbs. I bought a book on conures and it said thats how he shows affection. Recently he started regurgitating when he headbobbs. According to the book and what google tells me, this is normal but he keeps doing it when i pet him. I try to calm him down and so he stops doing it but sometimes he just wont stop.
What do i do? Do I let him do it or do i stop petting him? I love cuddling with him but I dont want him to keep regurgitating his food.

Either you stop giving him so much attention or you simply deal with it. He thinks your his "mate" and is trying to feed you. There really isn't much you can do =/

My Green Cheeks do that to each other and a few weeks later we had 5 eggs

Seriously its just your birds way of showing you affection and its natural behavior. Once you see the signs just distract your bird before he regurgitates.

Aw i feel flattered that my bird choose me as a mate even though i am more than a little disgusted at the regurgitation haha, ive been distracting him whenever he starts getting excited and this seems to work for now thanks for the replies guys!

my sennie does this too. she gets all excited when i fuss over her and starts the bobbing thing.
when it changes to more like an undulating motion i know she is gonna bring something up, so i walk away.
no thanks! i want her to keep her food to herself

Scooter hasn't done this... yet... I think I'd try to look for the early signs and put the bird away. Since he probably won't want to be put away, he may learn not to do it. I "accidentally" toilet trained Scooter that way!

My Nanday, Shelby used to do this. I took it as a compliment, but it is kind of gross! She headbangs to music a lot and that's normally when this happens. I just try to distract her and it usually works before anything comes up.
