Bath Sprays - Smells Like Mildew!

Postby afears1026 » Mon Mar 04, 2013 9:55 am

I recently purchased a bottle of the Feather Glo Bird Bath for my macaws. I used it as directed but now my birds smell like mildew! Has anyone else had a similar experience? The bottle is not expired, but I can't imagine this is how it is intended to work. Any suggestions?

My suggestion involves just using plain water unless directed otherwise by an avian vet.

There's a lot of suspicious occurences around these sprays. I would stick to warm water.

Be weary of molds. Some birds are quite susceptible to aspergilliosis. This is caused by aspergillus, a black moldy fungus that can persist in mossy dark areas of your house. It's not at all uncommon, especially in damper older homes, but shouldn't be to worrisome unless it's crawling down your walls or misting through a water bottle aimed at your face
