Louis Update-3 weeks into ownership

Postby trueloveway » Thu Apr 25, 2013 6:51 am

Can I just say that I have the cutest most cuddly/adorable little parrot ever? I do not know how Louis' previous owners could just leave him in the cage all day!! This little parrot has the biggest personality. He thinks he's an eagle! The other day he decided to go Rambo and protect me from a coke bottle! (But then the coke bottle fought back and little Louis took his bruised ego back to Mama!)

He is sooooo smart too! He learned to fly to me when I called him with little to no training! Now when I move towards the door he flies to his cage and when I go back towards his direction he goes back to me. I think I hit the parrot lottery with this one guys. Or maybe I'm just a biased parent! But Louis is so great and I adore my best buddy! More updates soon!
When we love, we are courageous; and courage has nothing to do with being fearless, its about being willing to experience fear, even dread, to do what we must, without guarantee of outcome. - Vanna Bonta

That's really awesome! There is a small amount of luck involved when getting a bird. They can be so difficult when you first get them, but then again, some of us are just lucky enough to come across a mellow fellow lookin' for love! -Cheers!

All of my parrots came from somewhere else and they all turned out to be great (well, not the old wild-caughts amazon males...) but I warn you, there is what we call 'the honeymoon period' which is when you first get it and the parrot still doesn't feel confident enough to 'act up' so don't be disappointed if he changes a bit after a while because, if you continue to be loving, patient and consistent, he will end up been GREAT forever!
