Yuck! Regurgitation...

Postby KimberlyAnn » Sat May 04, 2013 11:18 am

I was scratching Emmi's head (And only her head) and watching TV. I didn't notice her head bobbing. Normally, I put her down on her perch when she does that she can learn that I'm not interested in her ABC (Anyone remember that grade school term? My stepson just reminded me lol) food.

But this time I was not paying attention until I looked down just as she placed a perfect package of regurgitation on the pillow I had her on. Right in front of my face.

Guess I will need to pay more attention so I can discourage her from doing this, but at the same time...did I just become the favorite? Lol My husband will be so jealous! :)
My family: "Emmi" Green Cheek Conure (12/15/2012), One husband, two step kids, and one baby boy born in January 2015!

Its not pleasant is it? In 14 years I've had some pretty well bonded birds to me but not a single one has ever been inclined to reguritate for me thankfully. That is until the last couple of weeks where Ollie is contantly pumping his head for either me or my partner, he has only brought it up for me properly once in that time though but that was once too many lol.

LOL!

Thankfully I can say a simple, "No" and she stops now. But I always feel bad. She stops and looks at me like her feelings are hurt lol

It's the same when they starting rubbing their vent on you and you put them somewhere else. They look so insulted!
