Screaming for mummy...

Postby Eric&Rebecca » Tue May 07, 2013 6:22 am

So as lovely as George is... when we leave the quarantine room he screams and screams for us. He stops eventually after 15 minutes or so. Mainly when Edmund says "quiet birdy!" Like those little baby high pitched cries. At the moment we ignore them and he does stop, the same thing happens when we leave the house.

Is this something that will stop in time? Is there anything other than ignoring it we can do?

While he is in quarentine all you can do is spend more time with him.

Out of quarentine you can put him in an active place so he can see everything going on.

We spend time in there as much as we can but sometimes we do need potty breaks but yes I understand your meaning.

He'll hopefully be in the same cage after quarantine and a gradual introduction process and the cage is in the most active area of the house so hopefully it will stop. Its so heart breaking because he looks so cute and then when you leave so forlorn. Bless him :greycockatiel:

Aw poor thing, needs must though.

I guess you will only find out if he is naturally noisy when he is intergrated into his flock or if the excess noise is because he doesn't want to be alone. I do suspect it is the latter though, just keep ignoring it though to avoid encouraging him.

He's vocal alright. He chitters and chirps and whistles. I think he's just male but this is like a little baby noise. I just cannot believe how quick he's tamed down!
