Can Parrots swim?

Postby JaydeParrot » Wed May 22, 2013 6:34 am

I've been unable to find a definite answer on the internet, so was wondering, could a parrot swim if it fell or walked into deep water or it sink like a stone?

It wont sink like a stone but they cannot swim as such either, they may be able to flap around enough to move to the side and get out that way but that would much depend on the expanse of the water they fell in and probably luck. Alot would also depend on if the water is still or flowing.

A parrot stuck in water will eventually drown from becoming waterlogged or struggling and exhausting itself.
If they fell into the toilet they would almost certainly drown as the sides are too steep to get out.
