Great Billed Parrots

Hello. Im looking into buying Great billed parrot. I have a Grey. great bill is 6 months old. She steps up. But seams a little aggressive. Not very aggressive though. I was wondering if thats only because she's in a shop and not handled daily. And if she will be nicer once i handle her everyday. How are they as pets? Are they very loud or ok? Please any help would be appreciated since they are not cheap. Please help. Thanks a lot.

Great Billed are among my favorite parrots, my absolute avorite being the Eclectus.

They are often compared to the Eclectus in nature. They are good talkers also. But they are very, very destructive. They need a lot of hard wood to chew on. That's what would deter me from getting one.

I think they are known to be pretty tough and hard headed. Not surprising with a beak of that size!

i can't belive u saw 1 in a store!! they are so rare (@ least in my area) & from what i'v read up about them, don't do well in cooler climets & reproduction issues...but i'v never had the pleasure of seeing one in person, or know anyone who has..if i were you, i would research day & night, and try to talk to other oweners...any parrot is a huge investment, but ones that are more rare or larger,destuctive...i think need a lot more prepration.
