Weird Behavior

I have a 7 month old parrotlet who likes to wrap himself in...well whatever he can, Usually its paper towels or toilet paper. Then he just sits in it for a couple minutes then goes to sleep. I've never seen or heard of a bird doing this. So I decided to ask this forum in hopes someone could tell me if its odd or not. I learned of this behavior when I first gave him a small bath after he had covered himself in strawberry juice and I had wrapped him up afterwords so he wouldn't fly everywhere. When i went to let him out and he just kinda sat in there and went to sleep. Now every time I have a paper towel around he grabs a corner and tries to roll himself into a sort of burrito and goes to sleep. I find it insanely cute and hes never had a problem with it and hes able to get out whenever he likes.
But like I said I just wanted to know if it was odd or not considering I've never heard of a bird doing it before.

That is adorable! He looks so cute!
I've seen some people train their birds to do this trick, or to cover themselves with a blanket or something. Maybe he just likes being covered up?

I think parrotlets are quite prone to snuggling, I believe ive heard them called "pocket parrots" before due to their behaviour and love of burying themselves in their owners clothes although that may be a similar species.

Awwwww, how cute is that?! I guess it acts like a security blanket for them -feeling the light pressure around their body must remind them of when the momma bird sat on them when they were babies.

my cockatoo sleeps like that. she used to try to sleep in my s snuggle hut she couldn't fit and it annoyed him when he'd have to wait for us to get her out so he could go to bed. I took one of my son's baby blankets and sewed it into a snuggle hut for her but she didn't like it so I took the other half and clipped it to the top of her cage. she wraps it around herself to sleep in it. it was a Thomas the train blanket so for Christmas last year my mother bought her a pink Disney princess fleece since she's a girl.
