I believe your bird will be fine too. He already knows your mother and surroundings, conures are sociable and with you not being there he will probably start demanding cuddles from her lol.
You have already got him used to being without you as janetafloat says albeit for shorter periods of time.
The type of birds that usually can't cope with their owners absence are birds that are never left alone and then suddenly they owner doesn't come back for a while, ones that are not accustomed to change or those with a more sensitive nature that bond very deeply.

I'm not saying he won't be sulking a bit when you get back though!!

My wife left her budgie Casey behind in Slovenia to come to usa to marry me :( it's been nearly two years. For the last year before coming, she brought him over to her grandmother's flat on weekends. He lives there now with the world's second sweetest granny (first being my own, duh). Granny got her into parrots all those years ago.

I'm back! Everything went well, I just weighed Chubby and he didn't lose any weight, he seems happy, and his cage is clean. Apparently my mom was able to cuddle him a day after I left, I guess he bonded with her a bit more. He wasn't upset when I came back either, in fact, he became a velcro-bird and didn't want to do anything but cuddle and sit on me for the first hour I was home. :)
