I don't know if it would be any help for you or not, but if you have any recordings of his past singing that you can play back for him when he is quiet, it may help. If no previous recording, the perhaps just some recordings of the songs that he used to sing, this helped one of my parrots through the difficulties of her new environment when she first came to live with us. It seemed to remind her of a happier time, which was good because I don't care for the particular song. But it helped her, which is all I cared about.

This is actually an excellent suggestion, Wolf!

Also, try MUSIC. My Senegal responded very well to soothing music, and Chance does, also (she gets skittish and phobic about stuff at times... ocarina music seems to particularly soothe her).

Try this... I mean, see if it helps? Just now this relaxed Chance after she was nervous.

I don't think the OP means a specific song when he says 'singing', I think he means a normal Senegal's vocalizations (meaning not screams). If you are keeping him to a human light schedule and free-feeding protein (seeds, pellets, nuts, sprouts) he could be sexually frustrated...

Perhaps so but music may still be effective so I still recommend to try it out and it really does't cost much and could help both human and bird. It is worth a shot.

Thanks so much, Wolf -- I really do believe music helps because I have seen how it makes a difference with my Grey. Chance attempts to understand the notes behind the song, she cocks her head and listens and then whistles to the music. It's so cute. I mean song itself is important to birds, parrots included, and it's so cute that Chance sings along to the ocarina music. I am getting an ocarina myself so I can play it around her.

Maybe Chance and I can start a band? Now THAT would be very Portlandia-ish lol

EDIT: Imma start a music/parrots post so I don't take over the OP's post ^^
