Total idiot filed my bird's nails!

Postby JaydeParrot » Fri Feb 14, 2014 4:33 pm

Sorry, just felt like venting! Went to avain vet yesterday for check up, the vet wouldn't let me in the room and filed both my bird's nails without asking!

I've nevr seen such a botched job! Both birds now can't hold onto my shoulder properly and will fall off if I don't move slowly!

One of my 2 can't fly, he fell off my shoulder ten mins ago and broke a blood feather, I didn't know what to do, I phoned a vet (A DIFFERENT VET!) who told me to put some cornflour on the feather if it was still bleeding, it wasn't. The vet then told me to just get the bird to bed and leave it till the morning, I've done that but am now anixious to see how my sennie's going to be tomorrow.

Soz about the rant, I'm just irritated by the incompetance of this 'qualified' vet!

Does anyone think $780 sounds beyond astronomical for anaesthatic, x-ray, blood test and endoscapy for a senegal?

Actually, no, it doesn't. Avian vets and their procedures are still quite expensive...

It seems too much to me. I would have expected more around 400$-$500.
