Working full time and parrots

One thing I often hear is how attached parrots get to their "flock," or, specifically, their "chosen person." On this note, I'd like to hear from those who work full time and have parrots. How do you make it work, and how do you prevent your bird from being lonely? When you come home from work, do you spend the rest of the evening with the birds? And while you're at work, what do you do to make things easier on the bird (i.e., do you turn on a radio, provide lots of toys, etc.)

I just don't worry about it too much. I make up for it with lots of flight, training, travel, and outdoor time when I am around.

We leave the tv on. It used to be the radio, but she likes the ads for a college in town so much (little birds in it that sing) and they play four an hour or so. My husband is still off work from his surgery and he confirmed! Lol She's liked these ads for months so we figure if she has tons of toys, interesting foods, and her fake birdy friends visit her many times a day on the tv...she's content! She will watch tv sometimes too.

But my husband will be back to work after six weeks. It will be interesting to see how she goes back to normal life with people gone in the day time. We do spend all our time with her when we are home, unless she wants to be on or in her cage.

I only work part time so I still have plenty of time to spend with them but mine don't miss me that much because they have each other and freedom from a cage.

Mine get plenty of attention when we are in, we also give them plenty to do when we are out. I don't bother having the TV/radio on, they have each other for company and are very rarely left alone for over 6 hours. I wouldn't keep a single bird if I was out of the house more than 4/5 hours on a regular though unless I had someone reliable to keep them company for a while
