Bird poop

Postby bean » Wed Sep 24, 2014 6:33 pm

Have a general question about my bird poop. My 14 y/o Amazons dropping look a little off lately, and since I am badly color blind, I took a picture of it, and I will try to post it. Please let me know if it looks basicly normal to you all in color and consistancy. It does not have any fowl smell or anything like that, it just seemed maybe a little more watery than normal. But he has been going crazy on apples (new to his diet) lately. Anyway, if you could look at the poop pic, I would appreciate it. Thanks.https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/739x554q90/905/r8hhZy.jpg

Hard to tell much with it being what appears to be trampled but I could not see anything wrong with color.

nothing could have trampled it. It was under the grate, so the bird could not get to it, and nor could a chihuahua reach it. I hope the fact that you think it looks walked through does not lend my worry about the appearence of the poop. If anyone is from the greater West TN. area, and knows a aviary vet that they would speak highly of, please let me know. I have not been here that lnog, and the one vet I took him to, I was not that impressed with. Thanks.

No, it could have hit the grate when going through, still makes it looked trampled. But although I cant tell a lot about the texture of it the color is fine, The watermarks on the paper suggested that it was a little watery but nothing to be concerned about.

This looks like a perfectly normal morning 'bomb' (first poop of the day), they are always looser and more watery than the ones later on the day. And the color is fine.

I will say this that after I feed fruit to mine the next poop is a little watery and then goes back to normal. How great is this forum you can take a picture of poop and we just sit around and talk about it. LOL The color how it is shaped.
It takes a great man to give advice tactfully
