Guys winters almost up nd its my first winter with olly ( senegal parrot ) tell me how to make sure hes not cold at night. I bought a tent for him, but he doesn't go in it but he chews it -.- can , how do I make him get in that, and how do your senegals or any parrots sleep at winter nights ? Thanks :) :senegal:

If Olly is tearing the hut up then you may as well take it out as the frayed parts are dangerous to him as he could swallow some and have problems that way or he could get caught in the strings and that could lead to broken bones chewed off parts and/ or a dead bird. In the region where these bird live wild the temperature never drops to below65 deg. so set your heat to come on at that temperature and he will be fine as long as it doesn't get colder than that.

As usual, Wolf is 100% correct. I keep the birdroom at about 68 degrees in the winter. Senegals only use the huts when they are hormonal.

Wolf, I got the fruit blend pellets for olly after eating them he started having redish poop, seems like they have dye in them, are these pellets goos, or should I change them, he likes them tho .

Of course he likes them as they have sugar as well as the dyes. I don't feed pellets but may I suggest that you give tops crumbles a try.
