My 1 year+ semi-tamed Indian Ringneck went wild on me THRICE this year even though I gave him attention and interacted with him, when the wildness happened, he just went bonkers at my hands but still recognizes my face, which is quite surprising.
The most recent one happened about a few days ago, I managed to get him back by somehow covering his beak with my palm and making the mmmuacks sound, which is what I always do to him whenever he wants me to pet him.
It all suddenly happened, he will start to back away or run away from me even though I did nothing to him. I had to "sacrifice" my hands just to get my buddy back, It was heartbreaking for me to watch my buddy losing trust on my hands.
He was extremely terrified of hands in the pet shop when I first saw him, even small movements freaks him out.
Is there anyway I can get him to forget his terrible past of other people's hands?
How can I avoid this sudden terrified, wild behavior next time? TIA
